Mid-Week Update
We have a lady in Los Santos sick with dengue- it will probably be the first of many such illnesses after the storm. My heart went out to her- they lost the back half of their house and continue to live in the house with the back side all crumpled and now she is miserable with dengue.
Victor and I have been working with the lawyer to get the foundation legalized- it is quite a process! Hopefully tomorrow we can turn in the legal documentation and get our name legally established! The process of getting our constitution and by-laws written and approved will take more time but I still have hopes by early December to get it done.
Victor got sick on me Tuesday night- he was vomiting and very dizzy so we went to the ER. They gave him some medicine for the nausea but he continues to suffer from vertigo. He can’t ride in the car- wherever we go he says he has to go on the motorcycle! Hopefully that will pass quickly.
Wednesday I went to the Capital for a meeting- our human needs/disaster relief guy was here to help us think through our disaster response. I was fortunate to get to spend several hours with him after that sharing my ideas for the foundation and the water purification project. His input was very helpful and encouraging! Now I have to work through the forms requesting money and hopefully by the beginning of the year we can get going financially! This year is going to be a short one with a variety of volunteer teams, these projects, disaster relief and my stateside assignment time August- January!
Well, that is probably more than you wanted to know- please keep our sick folks in your prayers, and several of our ministry sites are in limbo due to our persistent rain. We had hoped to do the Bible Course in Guayacanal but with rain threatening, we decided not to. It kills me to keep postponing things but I try to remember every thing is in God’s time!
