Mecho update

I have been talking to the folks at the Heart Foundation- we are going ahead on faith to have her operated on at the private clinic. Even though it costs more, it is the better option.  Following the surgery, she will have her doctors there and not waiting on them to show up at the hospital, seeing someone different everyday, not to mention the hygiene issues associated with the hospital.

Tomorrow we should have an exact date for the surgery. It will probably be the week of May 21-25th. They have a special project of children’s surgery this coming week (14-18) and there is a chance they can fit her in then. If not, it will be the following week. I hope it will be soon. Waiting is so hard for me, and I can only imagine how Mecho feels!  Thanks for keeping her in your prayers.

Thursday night

Finally we have had a day without rain! We saw the doctor today- one of our guys in Villa is sick.  Some of you may have heard me comment that I have found a doctor that treats patients for just over $1, and is very careful to explain their condition and give them a little education about how to get well and stay well, and also sells medicine at a reasonable price. I mentioned to him the medical clinics we will be doing and he said he would be glad to have us work with him.  I am praying how to best plug this medical team and now I have some new options to consider. I would love to help this man have a closer relationship to the Lord.

While we were in Santiago seeing the doctor, we also went to get the paint and equipment to paint the church. Many of you have seen the house where the church meets. Yesterday we were able to purchase it! We are pretty excited to say the least and they are busy making plans to spuce things up. The first step is to paint it Blue/Cream like all our other churches.

This evening we had a great group in Guayacanal. I was pleased to see our little nucleus of people there. Please pray with us for them to continue to search for God’s truth and to be obedient. Baptism has been a difficult issue.

Saturday I am hosting the Marriage Enrichment seminar here at the house. I hope to have 24-30 people. Pray for this special opportunity and for all these couples. Just imagine what God will do with 12-15 healthy, Christian couples in the midst of these different barrios!
