The Chicken Pox!
I guess the answer to Mecho’s surgery was a double no because leaving the hospital Saturday evening she discovered that she had Chicken Pox! She has been pretty uncomfortable with her mouth being affected by the outbreak. She sounded in good spirits this morning and said she felt better.
Sunday was a good day as we worshipped the Lord- we had a three day weekend here in the DR with yesterday being the celebration of Day of the Worker. Attendance was good as was the spirit. I have been made aware yet again of the marital problems that exist among many of our members. One couple is on the brink of divorce. They agreed to seek marriage counseling in an effort to save their marriage. It isn’t going to be easy- please pray for them as well as many other couples that are struggling. M&L begin their treatment tonight with a Christian counselor, thankfully he is part of our own Baptist family.
Also, plans were made today to begin a monthly Marriage Enrichment encounter. My prayer is that our leaders and principal church members can establish healthier marriages and then begin to be a source of light and hope to their communities, maybe in the future offering these ME encounters in the churches so that we can have a wider participation. Please pray fo Nicolas and Elizabeth as they lead this important part of our ministry. We all know that our personal lives and family lives have a significant impact on our spiritual lives and leadership. Pray with me that all of our leaders and members will allow God’s grace and love to transform their marriages and homes.
