Monday morning

Sunday's are usually great and yesterday was no exception- we had very good attendance, especially considering that it was Father's Day.  Thanks Cool Spring and the PA nurses- we used the hygiene kits and T-shirts as gifts for our Dads and they were very much appreciated.

Victor and I went out to Guayacanal to visit. It was exciting to hear how Luis was doing- he accepted the Lord Thursday night while he was 1/2 drunk. He didn't tell his wife where he had been but when we visited and she realized he had been to church, she said, "Now I know- he came home 1/2 drunk but was so much at peace- he ate and went to bed without any of his usual fighting, etc."  And he hasn't drank since!

He shared with us that a while back, I think it must have been with the Lexington group, he was observing one of our meetings. He tried to talk to someone but they didn't speak Spanish so he didn't get too far. But he said he sat back with his bottle of rum, watching. And with no breeze or anything present, something came along and knocked over his rum bottle and he lost it all. He took that as a sign from God and then something brought him by our place last week.  Pray for him and his wife, that they will be filled with faith that will lead them to obedience.

Also, please continue to pray for Hope Chapel in Sterling, MA as they make final preparations for their week here. They arrive Thursday afternoon. I am getting ready to head to Santo Domingo to get the van for them! (It wouldn't hurt to pray for safe travel!)

Tomorrow night we are participating in the cultural week at La Canela, showing the movie, Con Quien Te Vas?  I am exciting to see where that leads us.  The Hope Chapel folks will be doing some follow-up with.  Pray for the formation of a new group of people seeking the Lord through Bible study.
