I am still alive!

It has been awhile since I have updated the blog.  As I shared, the strike on Monday was peaceful. Over 70% of commerce here in Santiago was shut down and nearly all the public transportation nationwide was stopped. Navarette had one fatality which also shut the city down on Tuesday as the burial of the victim took place. I was able to go to El 7 on Wednesday- we had 10 young people come! We have started a bible study of Decubra 1 which is about basic biblical truths of salvation. They are going to lead their meetings, using dramas and music as they learned from the Cool Spring group.  We begin this Saturday at 5pm. Pray for Cesar and Chercha who are in charge of preparing the meeting/study this week.

My mom was released from the hospital last night. She has something going on with her heart that they need to investigate before they can operate on the intestines. I don't know how the long the process may take. Thanks for your prayers for her- she is home and feeling great again. Hopefully this heart issue will not turn into anything serious.

I start again at the seminary teaching Leadership 2 this Saturday (2-4pm)- I am in the process of getting my class plans together.

Victor and Sol are going out to Guayacanal tonight for our regular Bible study and to see how things are after our big focus last week. Please pray for this area, for the seeds that have been planted to grow and for folks to take the lead in the developing church. Pray for Johan as he begins his walk with the Lord and for wisdom for us as we seek to help him grow strong spiritually.

The rest of the week has been spent taking care of some business stuff- the mission van needed the AC fixed, I had to work at the airport for our mail service, I had the electrictian install a proper outlet for the ice freezer (it is now out on the street with the water jugs), etc.  The house is sort of back to normal. I am still not completely rejuvenated but I am working on it. As Isaiah says, He who waits on the Lord will renew his strength..." I am waiting!
