Another great day!
Today we worked in Villa de Yaque. Interestingly enough, the Cool Spring Youth group was the first group to go to this community (prayerwalking) three years ago. They went even before I did! Today, the medical team worked in our own building, and we had a great group of leaders to work with us- all new to Christ since that first CSBC arrived three years ago- it is fun to look back and see how God has worked and people/churches have grown. I was very gratified today to see how the community acted- very calm, we had no chaos or dissatisfied customers, which has been true of other experiences. I think they have begun to see that we will treat them fairly and with love and there is no need for shouting and pushing, etc. Because we had been there last October with the Nurses, we had our organization all ready and things went so smoothly that we saw over 100 patients by about 12:30pm! That gave us a chance to share and visit with our church leaders (something we haven't really been able to do because of either time constraints or rain). We had a chance to see Juli's shoe factory which he has set up just beside their house. It was a great day!
And sure enough, it downpoured this afternoon. Some had gone out window shopping near the hotel and those guys got wet, but thankfully I was at home and got to enjoy the rain from a dry spot. I was glad the team had a "light" afternoon because they have been hard at it from the time they got here. Yesterday was a super intense day so today's experience was a welcome change.
The storm that blew through also brought down a lot of mangos so we had a feast! Brent is going to turn into a mango pretty soon!
Tomorrow we are working in "Seven". There is a lot of spiritual warfare going on in this community and some difficult dynamics for me to sort through. Remember, I am just starting here so please pray for our experiences tomorrow and especially for Morena and her family and whoever might emerge as potential leaders for a new church plant.
The team is enjoying your blogs so keep them coming!

We began setting up for the Pig Roast tonight and have the fellowship hall looking sweet. We're hoping for another large crowd tomorrow.
We had a bad thunder storm here yesterday about 3:00 and I'm sitting through a similar storm now... hoping the power won't go off before I can finish.
Stay focused.... Finish Strong.

Church is going great. Tonight is the pig roast for the DR Team. Marsha - the team has done a great job praying and preparing. I have no doubt that they will produce!
Godspeed.

I am so excited to hear about all the wonderful things happening in the DR.
You are in my prayers as God continues to guide you to do His work. May you continue to feel God's presence with you as you go about your work there.
When you leave, may the seeds you plant in lives continue to grow for Christ.
