A midweek report...

It has been a week full of rain! And with the rain comes lots and lots of mud! We weren't able to have our two bible studies in the missions (Guayacanal and Navarette) because we meet outside and the rain and mud were pretty big deterents. However, I still went and visited with various people in both places. I am concerned with several issues: one, our "principal" participants" have some very dififcult family issues to contend with, two, there is still quite a bit of fuzziness on their part as to what it means to put your faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him, three, for those that seem to grasp the Biblical invitation to salvation, there is a hesitancy to follow through with baptism.

I am encouraged by the time to talk one on one with our folks, encouraged to get a clearer picture of where they are spiritually and emotionally, and at the same time, I am feeling pretty overwhelmed at how to help them sort all these issues out!  Thankfully, I have a clear understanding that it is God's Holy Spirit that will resolve these issues and not me which gives me peace of mind, and yet I know that God uses us as instruments in the lives of others to help them come to saving faith. Please pray for both the folks in Navarette and Guayacanal as they move toward the critical point of being baptized and beginning to form themselves into a church.

Several weeks back I was sure we were going to be able to purchase a lot out in Guayacanal for a modest sum- and then all of a sudden every available lot was over $1000. So then I thought that it wasn't meant to be- I continued to pray and ask God to direct the process. All of a sudden, today a lot presented itself on the main road, a good size, and for the amount we hoped to buy at (thus meeting all our criteria)! So tomorrow we have a meeting at 10:30am to finalize the deal! Please pray for all the parties involved that things would happen according to God's will.

Also, please continue to pray for several of our leaders who are dealing with very difficult and painful family issues.  It is painful to stand beside loved ones when they suffer and yet I thank God for the priviledge of being here with these folks and walking with them! Thanks for your support- through your emails and prayers!

1 - i know i write everyday and i'm sorry but i get bored. you are a good friend and a wonderful sister,in Christ.i thank God for bringing you into my life. Your dedication to God as a missionary has given you the ability to "mission" even to us. even though we are not in your "selected region". i believe God smiles everytime he hears your name. i guess we prayed a little to hard for rain...ha ha ha... i think it was dr. kennedy who had a guest on today. she was a former islam follower from Turkey who accepted Jesus As her Lord and Savior. she talked about how hard it was to menanoia or change her mind and accept Jesus and baptism because it taught clearly opposite of everything she was ever taught. being baptised by submersion means you are excomunicated from the catholic church i would imagine and that means no hope for eternal life with Christ. which is not a biblical teaching. in fact we see the exact opposite when Jesus healed the blind man and he was kicked out of the church. Jesus hunted him down and said, "brother don't worry about it, you gettin in". (He said it a little different than that but you get the gist) (it's got to be funny to see a tough, grown man carpenter crying on the job sight. lol) what a testimony this lady has. i will try to get a copy of it from the radio room and send it to you. "Lord Jesus, we come humbly before you tonight with another concern. first we thank you above all thanks for our salvation but Lord we thank you next for the water.
!!YEHAWW!!! Master, we know that when people start following You, the devil gets fired up and goes on the attack. Father please bring peace to the families in guyacanal and navarette. as we all need, help us to put and keep you FIRST in our lives and our homes. please keep the devil at bay. Miss Marsha works very hard as your humble servent to bring the gospel forward. she loves You Lord and loves working for You and living for You. please guide her mind and protect it from tha attacks of the beguiler. keep her healthy in these rainy seasons. protect her, Father, from diseases carried by skeeters. Master we thank you for the land in pon ton. as they work to build, please protect them from injuries and troubles. Bless all the dear children who heard the good news of Jesus. may the word take root and grow in their lives. You are their only hope. thank you dearest Jesus.

2 - i was talking with Miss Vicki today, what a blessing she is in my life. she has taught me "Today is a perfect day to start serving God." Here in the keys, there is a saying. Mel Fischer said "Today's the day." he was tailking about treasure hunting, and what greater treasure is there than salvation? "Today is the day to serve the Lord." what an awesome person she is. she knows herself better than i do but the fruit i see is incredible. i will be at the feet of Jesus next to her i hope. i know i'll be there, i just hope there is enough room next to everyone else she "guided" through life. a carpenters hands are clumsy so please forgive all the typoes. it takes me forever to go back and fix them. we are having a rummage sale at the church tomorrow. ALL moneies to go to local missions here on big pine key. we had alot of stuff donated. stuff you wouldn't sell for a dollar but we will. please pray that we will not have to load a bunch of stuff back out of there tommorow afternoon...lol for real though. we just got FCC approval to expand our radio frequency. not very far but its another neighborhood that can hear the Good news of Jesus Christ. please pray that everythuing else will go smoothly. !!!!GO MISS MARSHA GO!!!!!
because the WHOLE world celebrates HIS resurection real soon (in some way or another, just like Christmas), tommy (Comment this)
